How do you live your purpose as an empowered woman?
You’ve got bills to pay, children to raise, a dog to walk, and any number of things to be done.
Often, life gets in the way of us living to our full potential. We let the mundane take over and forget to think bigger.
5 Ideas on How to Live Your Purpose
As women, we are often at the mercy, it seems, of everyone around us. But we must carve out space for ourselves to craft the lives we want to live, instead of living solely for others. Here are a few ideas:
1. Get Clarity On Your Life Purpose
To live your purpose, first and foremost, you must understand what your purpose is. This can take some time and a lot of thought. If you can, consider working with a life coach or taking a weekend workshop so you can get away and focus on yourself.
Journaling, meditation, and prayer are also great ways to get clarity on your life purpose.
For some people, a life purpose is something you create and decide upon. For others, a life purpose is a higher calling, something that God gives you. You can decide what you want your life purpose to be.
2. Once You Have Your Life Purpose, Memorize It
If you write up a very lovely life purpose, but then put it in the drawer and forget about it, it won’t help you much. Memorize your life purpose so it is drilled into your mind.
You can also have it printed out and taped to your bathroom mirror or put on your refrigerator door. Connect with it regularly to remind yourself of what your purpose is.
3. Embody Your Life Purpose
Embodying your life purpose may be a bit of a process. The idea is that you become more of the woman you want to be through continual self-improvement. Let’s say your life purpose is to help others through volunteering and charity. Yet, you find yourself sometimes annoyed and upset by people.
You can work on forgiving people and learning how to be more compassionate in your daily life to help support your purpose.
4. Write Down Some Action Steps to Live Your Purpose
Sometimes, we get so caught up in the day to day we forget to do some of those things that are most important to us. This is why it can be helpful to write down action steps that involve your life purpose. These might even include general “soft” steps such as “be more kind to strangers” or “relax while driving in traffic.”
5. Take Small Steps Regularly
You don’t have to solve all the world’s problems overnight. From your action steps, you can come up with a list of things you can do to live your purpose on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
Maybe to start, you agree to volunteer at the local homeless shelter once per month for a few hours. Or, you spend a few minutes every day picking up some trash in the neighborhood.
Be an Empowered Woman Living Your Purpose
Once you get clarity on your purpose, start to embody it, and take small action steps regularly to achieve it. Next thing you know, you are living the life of an empowered woman. Congratulations on making the world a better place while achieving self-fulfillment!
