The Empowered Me was inspired by the strong, smart, and passionate women that cross our paths every day. The ones who are looking to make the most out of their career and their life. It is our goal to inform and inspire each and every one of you through our site’s content.
We hope that our site helps you find…
Ambition to make that bold career move or experience that big life decision when it feels out of reach and you don’t know where to turn.
Support in knowing there are other women feeling the EXACT same way you do right now when it comes to women in the workplace, women’s rights, and leadership opportunities.
Growth through all aspects of your life. Not just in your career, but in your personal life, too. Along with the confidence to be exactly who you are meant to be.
Some of you already know your worth and your power. Some of you still are trying to find that. That’s why we created a space to educate, guide, and EMPOWER all women no matter where they are at in life.
Empowered Women Empower Other Women
As women, it has been long overdue that we are not always treated with the mutual respect. Or, some of us have become so desensitized and insecure about our role in the workplace that we lost our voice and forgot our value. We’re here to put a stop to that.
The Empowered Me strives to deliver the best materials, advice, tips, and information to help you succeed; in whatever way you define success (whether that’s being a serial entrepreneur, boss lady, super mom, queen of everything, you-name-it).
In addition, we shed light to important topics and issues involving the rights and equality of women. We also bring insight from other empowered women and share their stories with our audience.
What We Believe
The only way we can truly unlock the potential of the human existence is to empower all women in every imaginable way!
As humans, we deal with basic aspects of life and as women, each of those aspects has challenges to overcome and ways that we can empower each other to greatness.
It is your time to show the world what you are made of. And we are here to make that happen. We hope you enjoy.
With love and confidence,
The Empowered Me Team
PS: Friendly reminder that if you have any suggestions, comments, or feedback, please reach out to us on our contact page. We appreciate hearing from you!
Meet the Team
Evangeline Hayes – Chief Editor
My name is Evangeline Hayes and I’m the Chief Editor for The Empowered Me.
I graduated from college with a degree in business administration and creative writing. My dream job at that time was to work for publications that provided content to women.
After working for several years at various women’s lifestyle publications as a writer and editor, I finally landed at my true dream job: Chief Editor for The Empowered Me. I lead a team of brilliant and empowered women who work every day to make a difference in the lives of women and girls.
In my spare time, I spend most of my time with my three very energetic teenagers. They’re involved in tons of activities and they keep me busy. That said, we do make time for quiet family time, and we love watching old musical movies together. If you have any questions, comments or concerns, please reach out to me at ehayes@theempoweredme.com
Hannah Blanchard – Junior Editor
I’m Hannah Blanchard and I’m the Junior Editor here at The Empowered Me.
When I was in high school, I had the opportunity to work on the political campaigns of women who were running for state and local offices. This experience inspired and empowered me. It also educated me about the many issues facing women. First, Second, and Third Wave Feminism were only the beginning. We still have a lot of work to do, and I’m committed to doing my part.
For college, I knew that I had to continue my growth in this area. I finished my degree in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies and came to work for The Empowered Me straight out of college.
When I’m not working, I’m continuing the cause outside of work. I volunteer for some organizations that empower women and girls, and I also still do some volunteer work for political campaigns when I have time. You can contact me at hblanchard@theempoweredme.com
Janell Goodman – Women’s Studies Specialist
I’m Janell Goodman and I’m the Women’s Studies Specialist for The Empowered Me.
My mom was a single mom. Growing up, I saw firsthand the struggles that women face in the workforce. Watching my mom have to work twice as hard for opportunities as her male counterparts clued me in to exactly what life is like for professional women in America and it made me a strong advocate for women’s issues.
It was natural for me to choose to get a degree in Women’s Studies. I was able to study women’s history in America and around the world, women in literature, women in politics, and the sociology of women. My favorite topic was feminist theory.
After college, I became a clinical social worker and worked for a while as a specialty counselor for women and girls. During this time, I also worked for a women’s shelter, which gave me a glimpse into a woman’s world that I had not been aware of previously.
Currently, I’m enrolled in law school. In a few years, I hope to be working as a family law attorney and an attorney who fights for women’s rights in the workplace and society. When I have free time, I do an internship at a women’s shelter. Don’t hesitate to email me at jgoodman@theempoweredme.com
